Drilling Superintendent – Muscat, Oman

Job Description:
The Drilling Superintendent is responsible for leading and optimizing the performance of assigned drilling rigs while ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operations. The role includes supervising drilling activities, supporting site teams during complex situations, ensuring well control readiness, and maintaining strict HSE standards. The superintendent also manages rig budgets, equipment maintenance, crew coordination, and operational reporting while maintaining strong communication with clients and management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee drilling operations to ensure safety, efficiency, and compliance with company standards.
• Provide guidance during abnormal drilling conditions and ensure safe operational recovery.
• Ensure well control preparedness and regulatory compliance.
• Enforce HSE policies and lead incident investigations with corrective action plans.
• Monitor rig inspections, equipment maintenance, and PMS schedules.
• Manage rig budgets, procurement requests, and operational costs.
• Coordinate crew movements, training, and competency development.
• Maintain continuous 24-hour operational support and reporting.
• Liaise with clients and represent operations in management meetings.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science.
• Minimum 10 years of drilling industry experience.
• Valid IWCF Level 4 certification required.
• Well Engineering Round I & II certifications preferred.
